Zamfara State Deputy Governor who doubles as Chairman of the state economic management team Mahadi Aliyu Gusau has chaired the inaugural meeting of the committee on Tuesday.
Addressing committee members the Chairman said, the committee was constituted by the government considering the effects of global economic recess and shortfalls of revenue accrued by the state.
He reminded the members of the committee that the government has carefully selected the membership of the committee considering their track record and capacity to stimulate options and map out a strategic operational plan that will enhance the state revenue generation drive and boost economic activities.
While describing the task as enormous the Deputy Governor urged the committee to came up a withState Economic Development Plan which will serve as a working document with the aim of providing a multi-facet economic approach and also attract foreign direct investors.
