Some armed bandits blocked the popular highway linking Gummi-Zuru-Anka to Gusau the capital city of Zamfara and abducted two persons.
The attack which took place at the early hours of Tuesday involved five persons including the driver of a commercial vehicle named Sani Popular and one other person Umar Spanish who was alleged to have been injured during the attack.
A source said the victims were travelling to Gusau from Gummi before they were stopped along State Neuropsychiatric hospital, Anka.
At the point of the attack, a source informed this medium that the three victims were able to escaped in the hand of the bandits and run to the nearby village.
Another source closed to one of the victims kidnapped informed this medium that the bandits had later called to request for the payment of N1M naira ransom to release Umar Spanish, whom they claimed had secured multiple injuries as a result of the wound he had in his body.
He said the money has been raised and that some people were sent to deliver the ransom and picked him for treatment.
Effort to reach the state Police command through its spokesperson ASP Yazeed was not successful.
