The leadership of the People’s Democratic Party has declared that, soonest, the former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwamkwaso would be contacted to return to the party to unite and defeat the ruling APC.
The Acting National Chairman of the party, Amb. Iliya Umar Damagun stated this while reacting to the comment made by Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso that PDP is dead and that it cannot win elections in Nigeria anymore.
He said the party is making a concerted effort to bring back all the aggrieved members who left the party, including Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
He stated further that up to this moment it is only PDP that has the machinery of winning elections hand in hand with the APC.
He argued that when Kwankwaso picked a new party after declaring that his former party, PDP was dead, how many states his party won? Damagun asked.
Damagun explained that PDP is the only party in Nigeria that has never changed its name twenty-six years after.
He also said, it is the only party that has elected Governors, Senators, and other elected positions across Nigeria.
He added that, it was the PDP that trained Kwankwaso to become an active politician to reckoned with in Nigeria and therefore argued that no one can rule out the chances of Kwankwaso returning to the PDP.
