Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara has threatened not to pay the contractor handling the renovation and extension of the state House of assembly complex if he failed to execute the contract according to the specification.
The Governor who handed down the threat when he paid an inspection visit to the project site said, he is not satisfied with the finishing of the structural work and therefore directed the state Commissioner for Works to contact the contractor and make sure that the appropriate things are done.
“I make it a duty to inspect any project I awarded with the aims of making sure that proper thing is done. With me it’s not going to be business as usual with the contractors”.
While at Zamfara Radio and Television complex, the Governor expressed satisfaction with the quality of job executed and equipment supplied adding that, it is his desire to see that he has transformed the state radio and television broadcasting outlets to the world standard.
The Governor also visited the ongoing reconstruction of road network within Gusau Central Market where he promised the business community residing in the market that his administration will continue to empower business activities with a view to reviving the old name of the state.
