The factional Chairman of All Progressive Congress in Zamfara Alh Surajo Maikatako, his allies Rabiu Garba Emir and one Auwalu Alhazzai have been arrested by the operatives of the Nigerian Police Force suspected to be from the force headquarters Abuja.
Those arrested are true political supporters of former Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa who represented Zamfara Central in the 8th assembly.
The arrest according multiple sources may not be unconnected with the recent crises between members of the Senator Marafa faction of the APC and the primary election committee set up by the National Headquarters of the party under the leadership of Ahmad Kareto.
According the Publicity Secretary of the APC Marafa faction Alh Bello Bakyasuwa, the police operatives wanted to forcefully effect the arrest of the factional Chairman and two other party supporters but instead we advised that they will report to the police force headquarters themselves.
“They came to effect the arrest of our members without any warrant and without telling us what offenses they have committed and we felt they should not be forcefully arrested we instead asked them to go and listen to the police being them law abiding citizens of the country”.
They have gone to the force headquarters themselves and in less than one hours Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa has secured their release and they were asked to report on monday” Bakyasuwa added.
We would accompany them on Monday for us to know what crime they have committed. It is politics and we are ready for it”.
