A chieftain of All Progressive Congress and former house of representatives aspirant for Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji federal constituency Comrade Anas Abdullahi Kaura has called on Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle to be watchful not to allow political defectors to destroy his government.
Anas Kaura made the declaration at an exclusive interview with Thunder Blowers Online News Medium in Gusau the state capital on Monday noting that, the political development at Kaura Namoda and the crises it has generated between the supporters of the ruling PDP and opposition APC has become a source of concern which if handle with laxity can tempers with the relative peace enjoyed by the people of the area.
He accused the serving local government Council chairman Lawali Isah Maibindiga of trying to cause crises between the supporters of the two parties for reason best known to him saying, the recent attacks on the supporters of the opposition APC in Kaura Namoda which left two councilors and other members of the APC critically injured had only proven his political ill-thinking that, there is no compulsion in politics.
“Since around February 2020 when the five councilors belonging to the opposition APC refused to defect alongside with the council chairman Lawali Isah Maibindiga he has continue to deny them their entitlements and also deny them access to their offices and official meetings. These councilors not mincing their constitutional rights, continue to withstand these molestation not until recently when he personally injured one of the councilors after having confrontation with them in Gusau” Anas alleged.
He accused the council chairman also of sponsoring political thugs to attack and injured the councilors of Galadima Dangaladina and Yankaba wards as well as other members of the APC in Kaura Namoda just to prove his political weak mindedness.
He called on Governor Matawalle to as a matter of public interest call the council chairman to order before he brings more political confusion in to Zamfara State noting that, you can’t win public support in politics by use of force and intimidation.
“The council chairman and his co-travellers are political defectors whose interest is to remain with the government in power because people like them lacks the capacity to influence people in politics without using government as an umbrella.
The governor should be careful with these types of politicians. During our party primaries everyone rejected his nomination but the former Governor pleaded on his behalf and this is his true colour now. He has betrayed the former Governor and his party the APC and we are not bothered because we know he is politically irrelevant” Anas Kaura alleged.
“The council chairman should know that, APC is a peaceful party in Zamfara and it’s members are peace loving but there is need for him to play politics with decorum and allow people to enjoy their freedom of political association. He should not use political intimidation to clamps down at the opposition, that will further bring more confusion If he continues in that path”.
He used the opportunity to call on the APC supporters to remain law abiding and allow the state APC to continue to handle the matter adding that APC remains the most popular party in Zamfara state.
