Former civilian Governor of Zamfara State Sen. Ahmad Rufai Sani has declared that with the defection of Governor Bello Matawalle to the APC over 5, 000 people called him to beg for appointments.
Sen. Yarima who declared this in an exclusive interview with Managing Editor of Thunder Blowers in Abuja on Thursday said, Zamfara APC would remain united despite the challenges some politicians are trying to create within the party while crying for recognition in the new arrangement.
“You would be surprised that since the defection of the Governor many people have been calling in fact, over 5,000 people have called to beg me for appointment and that would tell you that people of Zamfara are ready to play the card with the Governor in the APC”.
“Even those that belongs to the Yari’s camp have been calling to beg me for appointments and I used to tell them anybody who deserves something in the Matawalle’s government would surely get it because the Governor is ready to work with those who are interested in developing the state”.
The former Senator said he is still optimistic that since the government at the center and indeed the national headquarters of the APC are fully supporting the Governor’s defection, not any politician in Zamfara can fight the Governor in the APC.
He further said, the reconciliation of the aggrieved members of the party is ongoing, noting that the whole conflict would soon be resolved and APC is going to be stabilized for the betterment of the common persons in Zamfara State.
