Over 200 abductees have been unconditionally released from captivity.
Speaker of Zamfara State House of Assembly Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya stated this when he received a delegation of conference of State Assembly Speakers (CSAS) who paid him a condolence visit in Gusau on Thursday.
He said the recent release of these abductees was part of the achievements recorded as a result of the new security measures instituted by the state government to fight the menace of armed bandits activities.
He assured the visiting Speakers that the state government led by Governor Bello Matawalle is fully committed toward implementing measures that would bring lasting peace in the state.
He said the administration of Bello Matawalle is deeply concern not only on the effects of the activities of armed bandits in the state, but is also extending a hand of synergy to ensure other neighboring states that suffered from the offshoots of the Zamfara crises are also secured.
