The abductors of the five family members of chairman of Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) Federal University Gusau Mal. Abdulrahaman Adamu have demanded for the payment of (N70M) as ransom.
They have also demanded for another (N10M) for one Abbas a staff of the Federal University Gusau they have abducted alongside five other family members during the operation.
The development was confirmed by the Chairman after receiving calls from one of the abductors.
On Wednesday morning around 1:35am some suspected gunmen invaded Damba Quarters in Gusau the capital city of Zamfara and abducted five family members of the ASUU Chairman of Federal University Gusau Mal. Abdulrahaman Adamu.
They have also abducted one Malam Abbas a staff of Bursary Department of the same University.
Their operations lasted for close to an hour and according to source the gunmen kept firing gunshots within the quarters simply to scare the residents who have already retired to bed as at the time of the operation.
Meanwhile sympathizers and well-wishers from both within and outside the University have been coming to commiserate with the academician over the recent tragedy that befalls him and his family members.
