The Chairman of Private School Operators in Zamfara State Samaila Hussaini Kwangwami has warned parents to always alert school proprietors on those responsible for picking and dropping their children at schools in order to avoid tendencies of the activities of kidnappers and abductors.
He said with the Jangebe scenario, school proprietors have to take security measures of their schools very seriously considering the facts that, the attention of the abductors have now turned to schools.
He narrated that recently, a Keke Napep operator attempted to outsmart a private school operator in Zamfara where he alleged he was sent by some parents to pick their wards only for one of the children to deny knowing the Keke Napep operator.
He said if not for the divine intervention and the denial by the girl a sad story would have occurred because the Napep operator may be having a sad mission which is not clearly known to others.
He added that, the father of the affected children died two weeks back noting that it would have been disastrous if the Keke Napep operator succeeded in picking the children.
He also called on the new Commissioner for Education to intensify security and surveillance of public schools in order to avoid the occurrence of the sad incident similar to that of Jangebe.
Kwangwami urged private school operators to also be active and alive to securing their schools and ensure the safety of their pupils.
He charged parents to always introduce their representatives to the schools so that those who pick and drops their wards would be known to the school management
