Emir of Zamfaran Anka Attahiru Muhammad Ahmad has suggested that since the activities of these bandits is becoming excessive in the North, people should be allowed taking arm and defend themselves.
The Emir who doubled as the Chairman of the State Council of Chiefs said the attack on Sarkin Kiyawan Kaura wasn’t the first since the activities of these bandits started.
He was speaking shortly after the funeral prayers of the eight people killed in the convoy of the Emir of Kaura Major Sanusi Muhammad Asha on Friday in Kaura Namoda.
Emir of Potiskum was attacked last year, a police orderly attached to Sarkin Danko was once killed in an attack, Emir of Yauri in Kebbi was also attacked, so with the way things are going nobody is safe in this part of the country” Sarkin Zamfara added.
On the ongoing peace effort with the bandits the emir said, there is no reason why the government should negotiate with those whose interest is to kill and cart away money.
