A retired director of education in Zamfara Samaila Mudi Tsafe has declared that almost 80% of the villages in Tsafe local government are under the siege of the armed bandits.
Tsafe who stated this when he featured on Thunder Blowers TV show Dawache Kazo stated that, many of the residents in Tsafe villages have fled out of their home while those who chooses to stay have no option than to pay millions of naira as levy/fines for bandits to allow them to leave in peace.
He said, the recent development in Tsafe town was as a result of the killing of one of the notorious bandit leader by some suspected vigilante groups.
“The bandits stated in a very categorical term that they are in a war with the people of Tsafe, Magazu and Kurar Mota because suspectedly they might be the ones that killed the bandit leader”.
He stated further that since the abduction of a custom officer last Friday things have never been well with the people of Tsafe and that their coming to Tsafe was a second one and so far, they have killed close to ten people.
“During yesterday’s operation they have abducted a woman and her daughter and even before now they have killed some scores of people, majorly those who have gone to the farms”.
He stressed the need for the government to empower the security agencies to be able to activate their telecom hackers so that they can be able to track and hack the telecommunication networks when going for operation.
He also urged the government to provide the means of helping to detect the informants and also not to release them after they are handed over to the security agencies.
