AM IN THE APC CHAIRMANSHIP RACE: YARI INSIS

Former Governor of Zamfara State Abdulazeez Yari Abubakar said, he only read on the social media that the post of the National Chairman of the APC has been zoned to North Central but no one communicated that decision to him officially.

Yari who spoke to BBC Hausa service in Abuja on Tuesday insisted that being him a critical stakeholder in the APC he has to be part of those that will take the decision if at all it was the position of the party.

“All I know we have resolved that all positions that are occupied by people from the South would be moved to the North but issue of post of Chairman or any other position reserved for one part of the North, I am not aware of it”.

On the speculations that the President is involved in the reservation of the post of Chairman to the North Central Yari said “I am not aware and that the media aides to the President have denied that insinuation. And even if the President has taken that position we shall call his attention that certain steps you have taken are right or wrong”.

“We will inform the President that last time you single-handedly picked Adams Oshiomole and his nomination has led the party to a bigger problem and now people have to stay firm and chose the right person”.

“In the last convention people were not looking after the candidates but President Muhammad Buhari but now Buhari will not be involved in 2023, so it is the responsibility of the people to make sure that the right thing is done”.

Yari further said, since everyone in the APC agreed to crashed his old party and formed the APC decisions to be taken must be done in a more democratic manner that will please every member of the party.

He denied the insinuation that he and his supporters are planning to leave the party if justice is not done to them adding that, people should read through his history since 1999.
