Suspected bandits have blocked Anka-Mayanchi road since around 8:00am on Friday.
A source from Anka informed this medium that they blocked the road around a place called “Tsamiyar Gezoji” a location which is between Tahsar Kuturu Jangebe junction and Anka town.
The source added that, Nasiru Yari Anka and Hussain Amacha were the first victims to fall in the hand of the abductors,, but they were later freed.
He said, after they were abducted, the kidnappers demanded for payment of (3) million naira from the kidnapped victims for them to be released before taking them to their camp noting that if they were taken to the camp their relations must look for money worth (N20M) to pay as ransom.
The source added further that after dragging, the kidnapped victims settled the kidnappers with (N1,200,000) before they were released.
As regard to the road they blocked, the source said, up to 2:00pm of Friday the road was not freed by the kidnappers, but he said later on, with the combined effort of the security forces the road has been freed and commuters have started moving.
In a related development, another group of suspected bandits launched serial attacks at Rafin Gero and Kadaddaba communities of Anka local government area on Thursday night.
He confirmed to this medium that three persons were killed at Rafin Gero during the attack.
Zamfara police spokesperson SP shehu Muhammad said with the combined effort of the police and other security agencies, the road has been freed and commuters are now going on with their normal life along the road.
He further said, the support air force has been requested and they would soon join in the patrol of the Anka forest.
He added that armed security men have been deployed to ensure patrol along the area.
