The Governor of Kaduna State Malam Nasiru Elrufai said, for two months now they have received intelligent report that the bandits are planning to attack the Kaduna train.

The Governor who declared this when he visited Giwa community to commiserate with them over the recent attack launched against them said, all that the bandits are planning to do, the government is getting credible intelligent information but there is no credible action to avert their plans..

Their telephone conversations are being monitored, and he said a letter was written to the Nigerian Railway Corporation advising them to cancel night trips along Kaduna Abuja but they refused to listen.

He added that in the letter, the corporation was advised to ensure that trips are terminated by 4:00pm on the daily basis because it would be safer and secured.

El-Rufai said he was mentioning all these for people to be informed that there are those who are supposed to do the right thing,, but they have refused.

But he insisted that they would continue to mount pressure on President Muhammad Buhari and indeed the Nigerian army.

GOV. ELRUFAI ASK FOR FORGIVENESS OF NIGERIANS.

Governor Nasir Elrufai has asked for forgiveness of Nigerians over the recent attacks that claimed the lives of many Nigerians,, especially the recent train attack launched on Monday.

The Governor who was looking visibly emotional said he is disturbed to the extent that since the Thursday incident when the train attack was carried out he could not sleep with his eyes closed because of the trauma he has perceived.

In an audio clip sent by his media aides, the Governor said he is fully aware that he will be awakened in the hereafter to give an account of his stewardship while he was the Governor of Kaduna State.

“I am scared of standing before the Holy God to account for my deeds,, so I have to seek for your forgiveness because we have failed from our end.

WE HAVE FAILED THE PEOPLE

The Governor said they have failed the people and that they have no confidence anymore because it is their corporate social responsibility to protect the lives and properties of the people.

“From my perspective these security problems are not hard to be addressed,, but now they have metamorphosed into a complex dynamics.

Two to three weeks back we knew where these bandits are located. There ‘re helicopters, army, and DSS that are furnishing us with intelligence reports. Even those launching serial attacks in Kaduna are known because some of them were killed way back.

THEY DON’T LISTEN TO MY ADVISE

The Governor said, considering the level of trauma that trailed the serial attacks launched against Nigerians, he advised that all the forests where the bandits are hiding shall be combed and destroyed. He said he also advised that all the villages that are surrounding the forests shall also be dismantled.

But the Governor said his advice was not supported because the army argued that, since Nigeria is not at war, if that is done they may likely encounter issue eventually.

He said the army have canvassed an argument that after their service when they travelled abroad they may be arrested and prosecuted for crimes against humanity.

He expressed regret that the bandits are enjoying by per better freedom than the innocent citizens, noting that since when the court declared them as terrorists they have been putting heavy pressure for the government to vandalize the forest, but the authorities have failed to listen to the calls.

I WILL MEET WITH PRESIDENT BUHARI FRIDAY

The Governor said he is meeting with President Muhammad Buhari on Friday and that he will represent the same position to him with emphasis that, the security agencies are fully informed of the movement of the bandits.

He further said, their telephone conversation are being monitored and all that they are doing is known not only in the Giwa axis but including Birnin Gwari, Dansadau,Chukun and part of Niger state

WHY MILITARY PERSON ELS ARE NOT WORKING

In the views of the Governor, the number of the soldiers is not enough couple with the fact there are too many places where the uprising is taking place in Nigeria.

He stated that, soldiers are fighting terrorists in (32) states and that the number of the criminals is in the increase. He opined that sometimes (100) criminals will launch attack on the soldiers whose number is not more than (10).

Furthermore, he also said, it’s not everywhere a soldier could be deployed since there are instances where military checkpoints are attacked and all their weapons snatched by the criminals.

He also explained that the informants factor played a key role in the increasing spate of criminality, noting that there are certain things from the site of the public that need to be corrected.

He also confessed that, Nigerian army does not have powerful weapons similar to those owned by the bandits.
