A group tagged “APC Support Group in support of Abdulazeez Yari for APC National Chairman” has commences mobilization in support of the candidature of the former Governor.

The movement which is led by Zamfara former Deputy Speaker Alh Ahmad Muhammad Gummi has paid a courtesy visit to the state headquarters of the APC in Gusau on Monday.

They were received by the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the APC Lawal M. Liman alongside some state officials of the party.

One of the stakeholders in the movement Hon. Muhammad Muttaqa Rini who is a national commissioner of Population Commission described the movement as timely especially considering the need for Zamfara people to strengthen their support for the former Governor.

Rini further explained that, there is no doubt Zamfara people are solidly behind the candidature of the former Governor because he has done well for the people during his lifetime as Governor of Zamfara State.

He said the formation of the mobilization committee came at a better time during the holy month of Ramadan even as he asked the party supporters in Zamfara to take advantage of the holy month to continue to pray for the success of the movement.

He announced that he had donated one of his residential facilities at the old headquarters of the party for the movement and promised to continue to support the journey with all that are required.

Earlier, the state coordinator of the movement Muhammad Abubakar Gummi said they believed if there is anywhere the movement for the emergence of Shehi as National Chairman of the APC supposed to start is in Zamfara considering his countless contribution to the development of the party both at the state and national level.

He assured that they would do everything in collaboration with the state party to actualized the political ambition of the former Governor.

In his response, State Chairman of the APC caretaker committee Lawal M. Liman said the political scorecard of former Governor Abdulazeez Yari is non-contestable considering his giant achievements in the areas of road construction, electricity and water supply.

He noted that while at a meeting of the party in Jos sometimes this year majority of the APC stakeholders from the North whom he consulted for solidarity and support for the candidature of Abdulazeez Yari as national chairman of the APC has assured him of their support toward the actualization of the project.

He noted that former Governor Yari is still the party man to relied often for the transformation of the APC assuring that the organizers of the movement would be carried along by the party in the majority of the decision to take.

He also commended the national Commissioner of the Population Commission Muhammad Muttaqa Rimi for his continued contribution to the party and prayed for God to reward him.

Members of Zamfara state house of assembly has passed into law amended Bill for a Law to amend the Area Development Council Establishment Act Law No(7).

The development followed the delivery of
committee report by the house leader Faruk Musa Dosara who doubled as the Chairman of the house standing committee on local government.

With the new development, the qualifications for someone to be appointed as administrator of Area Development Council is senior living certificate .

The new law also stated that, the person to be appointed as Administrator for the Area Development Council must attain the age of (25) years.

The new amendment had also provided that, funds for the execution of development projects be credited to the account of the area development Council directly.

Three additional nominees for the post of Special Advisers have been screened by the members of the state house of assembly.

The nominees are Malam Sahabi Ahmad Mada, Dr. Nura Makwashe and Malan Shehu Garba.

Until his appointment, Dr. Makwashe is an academic staff working with the Bayero University Kano and also worked with BBC London during his study days in the United Kingdom.

According to the House Spokesperson Nasiru Usman Biyabiki the screening followed an executive communication received from the office of the Secretary to the State Government.

Presenting the nominees before the members, the house leader, Hon. Faruk Musa Dosara urged his colleagues to accept the nomination and confirm the appointment of the nominees.

Speaker Nasiru Magarya confirmed the nomination of the candidates as unanimous decision of the house.

Magarya urged the nominees to bring their experience to bear and justify the confidence reposed on them in ensuring the sustainable development of the state.

A Bill for an act to establish Zamfara State Anti Thuggery Agency scales through first and second readings on the floor of the state house of assembly on Tuesday.

According to the House Spokesperson Nasiru Usman Biyabiki, the proposed executive Bill was presented on the floor of the house by the House Leader Faruk Musa Dosara.

After extensive deliberation, Biyabiki said, the Bill scales through first and second readings and later presented before the standing Committee on justice and security for further legislative consideration.

“Hon. Magarya said, if established vthe Agency will among other things complement the security agencies’ efforts in curtailing anti-thuggery activities and other social vices in the state” Biyabiki added.

Speaker Magarya called on the committee members to work hard and accomplish the assigned responsibilities within the stipulated period.
