Zamfara state APC Kabiru Marafa faction said it has read with dismay the statement credited to Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau the publicity Secretary of APC Matawalle faction associating General Aliyu Gusau (rtd) with the ownership of (70%) of all the mining pitches in the state.
In a statement by the spokesperson of the Senator Bello Bakyasuwa Maradun said the publication of Vanguard Newspaper of January 4th 2022 which cited Mr Idris making references with how some PDP Governors commiserate with Zamfara state government on selected security incidences as the most irrational and illogical perspective.
While condemning the allegation in the strongest term, Bakyasuwa said Marafa faction of the APC has strongly disassociated itself from the allegation by Mr. Idris and the political platform he represented.
Bakyasuwa insisted that, it was in the character of the APC Matawalle faction to always resort to using blackmail, propaganda and disseminating misguided information to further confuse the members of the society.
“We are obliged by statements like this to call on the media to do well by indicating clearly the faction of APC from where they sourced the content of their publications”.
For the record, Zamfara State so far has three factions of APC namely Former Governor Yari-led faction, Senator Marafa-led faction, and Governor Bello Matawalle-led faction and its imperative for the members of the press to always clarified which faction of the APC made certain statement and on behalf of whom?
Bakyasuwa added, “unless the dispute is settled by competent court of law or through unanimous consensus, we want to appeal to the members of the press to properly label Zamfara APC reports with their relevant factions to avoid misguided attributions”.
Bakyasuwa further called on the Bello Matawalle-led faction of APC which Mr. Yusuf Idris represents to moderate their desperation and accord due respect to our elder statesmen by avoiding libelous and injurious statement against their personalities.
“We have seen how some online media organizations have already interpreted the statement and associated the allegation with the respected personality of General Aliyu Muhammad Gusau (Rtd)”.
As a faction within the same Party, we consider it apt to advise Governor Bello Matawalle, to minimize his endless national and international trips and stay in the state to focus and supervise the ongoing military operations against the bandits”.
“We are particularly worried that while these operations were going on, the Governor was outside the country attending the traditional wrestling events in Niger Republic”.
