Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle has secured his APC membership card at his polling unit of Maradun South 001
Chairman of Zamfara state registration/revalidation Committee Alh Ibrahim Kabir Masari in company of his members and other party officials in the state administered the registration of the party membership card to the Governor.
The exercise in Maradun signalled the commencement of the registration/revalidation of the APC membership statewide.
Hundreds of APC supporters and well-wishers accompanied the Governor to witness the exercise.
Former Governor Ahmad Sani Yarima, former Governor Mahmuda Aliyu Shinkafi, former Deputy Governors Mukhtar Ahmad Anka and Malam Ibrahim Wakkala alongside many other party stakeholders attended the event.
The Governor, who was visibly emotional described the exercise as a step toward uniting the party and strengthening it.
According to the statement by the DG Press to the Governor Malam Yusuf Idris cited the Governor saying the exercise in the state is aimed at giving equal opportunity to party members at all levels as prescribed in the party constitution.
He said, the development will allow internal democracy to thrive in the state and would produce viable party structure that will save the imagery of the party.
The governor also expressed satisfaction with the turnout of party faithful at the registration centers predicting that the party will draw over two million people in the state within the stipulated period.
Matawalle also applauded the leadership qualities of the party at the National level under the President Muhammadu Buhari for creating the enabling environment for the people of the state to register.
He assured that he would do everything possible to unite the party members and make it stronger than before.
Earlier in his welcome address the chairman of the state Caretaker Committee, Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha called on all members of the party in the state to come out enmarss and register so that they can be full-time members of the party.
