Zamfara State Chairman of the defunct Advanced People Democratic Party (APDA) Sanusi Bala Izalah has called for the unconditional release of emir of Dansadau from captivity pending his indictment by the committee set up by the state government or his conviction by the competent court of law.
The politician who spoke via a TV show programme Dawache Kazo said, since the state government has constituted an investigation committee, the emir should not be hold to captivity until when he has been out rightly finger pointed or rather indicted.
Bala said it’s a clear violation of the freedom of the suspended emir for the government or any of its agents to arrest and detained the emir on the basis of allegations noting that by law allegation are deemed to be non-substantial unless they are probed by a legal entity.
He recalled that few months, same state government arrested and detained former emir of Maru Abubakar Chika Ibrahim for months without him being convicted a circumstance that led to him dragging the state government to a federal high court for enforcement of his fundamental human right.
He advise the Governor to release the emir unconditionally and await the outcome of the committee it constituted so that if there are any allegations he is to clarify he shall be arraign before the court.
He also advise the Governor not to listen to politicians who may pushed their personal enemty to get the suspended emir crashed noting that such would be consequential precedents for the state.
