Suspected bandits armed with deadly weapon invaded Kogi village in Kaura Namoda local government area of Zamfara state and abducted over twenty people.
Those abducted according to the source are mostly women and the incident took place at the early hours of Sunday and abducted women sighted mostly at the outskirts of the town.
The source explained further that, when the local vigilante groups realized what happened they trailed the bandits and succeeded in rescuing about five persons out of the number abducted.
He explained that for close to two years, bandits were not successful in launching any attack on the community; hence the local vigilante people were foot to the ground in protecting their people.
As at the time of filing this report, the source said the bandits have not called to open discussion with the relations of the abductees.
