Kaduna state government has declared that suspected armed bandits had abducted a total of (1,789) people from the state within a period of six months.
It was also stated that within the months under review, the security forces had succeeded in killing a total of (161) bandits who had been operating in the state.
Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs in Kaduna Mr. Samuel Aruwan also stated that within the period under review a total of (285) individuals mostly civilians have been killed by the various armed bandit attacks in Kaduna state.
Aruwan who stated this while presenting Security report in Kaduna also stated that, the bandits rustle a total of (1,133) from across various locations in the state.
He also announced that a total of 654 persons have been arrested in connection with armed banditry related activities.
Kaduna state Governor Mal. Nasiru Elrufai in a remark said the recent Security challenges facing states in the North West constitute a serious threat to the conduct of the 2023 elections.
