Some suspected gunmen invaded Randa village in Dansadau Emirate killed eleven persons and abducted over forty women and children.
A source told BBC Hausa service that, the bandits armed with deadly weapons invaded Randa town after realizing that, the security operatives attached to the community have been deployed.
He explained that immediately the bandits noticed that the security operatives have been withdrawn, they stormed the village and started shooting at innocent souls.
According to him, the local vigilante confronted the bandits with evidence of fire exchange, but the bandits overpowered them.
He said they have killed eleven persons, eight of which were burnt inside a room and abducted over forty persons mostly women and children.
Many who can escaped run away for their safety according to the source, while those who cannot escape were either shot to dead or wounded or killed.
He also said the bandits have sent correspondences that they are planning to attack Malele town and abduct women and children, noting that the messages of the planned attack by the bandits made the residents to stay home and protect their family members.
Zamfara State Police Spokesperson SP Shehu Muhammad confirmed the development to the BBC Hausa service but explained that due to poor communication network the news of the incident did not reach the command till when it was late.
He explained that the command has already deployed adequate number of tactical police men to trail the bandits and rescue the abductees.
