BANDITS THREATEN TO ATTACK ZAMFARA COMMUNITY AFTER ABDUCTING ELEVEN PERSONS: POLICE DENIES KNOWLEDGE OF THE NEW THREAT

Suspected armed bandits in their multiple number have invaded Mutunji village in Dansadau Emirate of Maru local government area of Zamfara State and abducted eleven persons.

Among those abducted according to a source include nine (9) male and two (2) females.

A source said, since after the last month attack on military formation at Mutunji, the bandits have been taking advantage of lack of presence of security operatives to be launching serial attacks on both people of Mutunji, and it’s neighboring communities.

“As a result of the exit of the security agencies along Mutunji area after the last month attack on military formation, people from Malele, Randa, Ruwan Tofa, Yan sawayo are all living in palpable fear due to the threat by the bandits”.

They usually came to abduct people, bugle shops and steal away public properties including food stuffs.

He informed newsmen that, the bandits have released one of the abductees and sent him with a message that they are coming back to invade the town on Tuesday.

Zamfara Police Spokes Person SP Shehu Muhammad responding to the development in Mutunji told BBC Hausa service that, Police operatives have been deployed to take surveillance of the area since the last incident which occurred.

On the fresh threat by the bandits as alleged by some members of the communities, Shehu said, the state police command has not received complaint from anybody in Mutunji area noting that, as soon as the CP received complaint of security threat from any part of the state he would act speedily.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
