BENEFICIARIES OF GAMJIN GUSAU SCHOLARSHIP DEPART GUSAU FOR LOME

It was a moment of joy and happiness as parent and guardians of the (120) students sponsored by Dauda Lawal (Gamjin Gusau) grouped at the Gusau Command Guest inn to bid farewell to their lovely sons and daughters as they proceeded to Togo to pursue their respective academic carriers.

As at 8:00am on Sunday, the beneficiaries were seated at one of the conference halls of the guest inn as they listened to stakeholders who addressed them on the dos and don’t expected of them while in Togo.

Addressing the crowd, Eng. Garba Yandi who stood in for the philanthropist (Dauda Lawal) said, the last event which is the farewell address to the students marked the beginning of the fulfillment of the desire of Gamjin Gusau toward transforming the lives of these potential Zamfara children who are mostly of poor background.

He said Dauda Lawal has paid all the bursaries required of the (120) students from beginning to the end of their degree programs as well as allowances for their hostel accommodations, noting that what is left for their parents and guardians is to provide them with monthly stipends for their feeding and upkeep.

He reminded that the gesture is one out of many as he (Gamjin Gusau) has been providing scholarship to thousands of children of poor to study in ZACAS, College of Education Maru, Federal University Gusau and other health related institutions in the state for the past ten years.

Yandi on behalf of Gamjin Gusau urged the students to be of good characters and behave well to defend the good reputation of Nigeria while in Togo.

He assured that Gamjin Gusau will ensure constant monitoring of their academic performance and also provide all the needed support to ensure the success of their academic carriers.

Malam Mani Malam Mumuni one of the stakeholders at the event thanked the philanthropist for his visionary thinking of sponsoring the education of these future generation saying there is no investment worthy of commendation than investing in education of the children of the poor.

He urged the beneficiaries to be alive to their academic activities and urged the sponsor to ensure that whoever performed below expectations shall be replaced with another alternative back home so that the investment can be judiciously utilized.

Parents and guardians could not hide their joy as they described the intervention by Gamjin Gusau as a wake-up call to many wealthy people.

The students alongside the committee members were conveyed in two luxurious buses aided by two hilux vans of police escorts to Seme border from where they would be conveyed in another buses to Lome.

They have since departed Gusau the state capital.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
