The bill for a law on the establishment and management of the Directorate for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management has passed through the first reading at the State House of Assembly on Tuesday.
Also, two executive bills including the one to provide for the administration of criminal Justice system in the courts of Zamfara State and that of the bill for a law to establish penal code law of the state have passed through second reading.
In a statement by Spokes Person of the State House of Assembly Mustapha Jafaru Kaura said the two bills have been transmitted to the house committee on Judiciary and Justice for committee deliberation.
Earlier at the resume of the plenary after weeks of recess, Speaker Nasiru Magarya expressed concern with the delay in filing various committee reports for outright deliberation by the house plenary and charged members to speed up their commitment in that regard.
Magarya warned that the house under his leadership will not accept attitudes that are considered inimical to the progress of the business of legislation.
