It is obvious that Dauda Lawal the Governor of Zamfara State will surely face the latest criticism from the supporters of All Progressive Congress just the way himself and his supporters criticized the immediate past government of Bello Matawalle.

As a student of power and politics, I so much cherished criticism because it is one of the principles of corporate democracy.

Developed politics world over survived based on the ideas of the opposition political class and their use most of their perspectives to cheaply develop their existing manifestos, and that has been the trend since the inception of democracy.

Criticism is an ingredient of sustainable democracy, and people criticize those in power simply if they attempt to derail from their campaign promises or from the genuine direction of an established corporate governance.

Successful leaders world over always listen to the voice of the opponents and pick the best out of their perspectives to improve and enhance their manifestation in governance

It is expected that the new government in place in Zamfara State will create a sustainable ground for the voice of the opponents to be heard laud and clear so that the best can be done for the people of Zamfara State.

I don’t always like the idea of trying to muscle the opponents, either by being aggressive to them or by trying to woe them into the main stream of the government circle.

It is better we allow the other voice outside the mainstream to be ringing the louder sound so that those in the position of authority can actually be made to understand that they are being keenly watched and that their latest decisions are being subjected to public scrutiny.

I will candidly advise the new Governor of Zamfara Dauda Lawal to welcome constructive criticisms and work over the best out of them to improve from his existing manifestos.

Don’t allow the political sycophants to mislead you by being temperamental about your critics because that will cause your government a complete diversion from the business of governance.

I Will also implore him to allow diverse ideas to flow and apply the one that he thinks will be welcomed by the people of the state.

Remember those around you may likely not tell you the naked truth because of the strategic positions they hold or because of the contract you used to award to them occasionally, but those on the opposite political divide will be able to tell you the naked truth as it is, and I think that is the best input you needed as a Governor.

Remember the journey just begun and passengers in the plane have set their eyes on you as the pilot and when there is turbulences in the sky it is certain they will begin to scamper for help.

“I think before I close this piece we need to remind Dauda Lawal that he is now the Governor of over five million people of Zamfara not the Governor of PDP and if he runs a government for the people of Zamfara on this fundamental political philosophy, he will be cherished by them and if he chose to politicized his government for whatever reason prosperity will judge him”.

Professor Mansur Sokoto has said it all for the Governor Dauda Lawal, and I believed that particular sermon he delivered for him should serve as a point of reference when it comes to taking decisions that matter to the people of Zamfara.

All his speeches and campaign promises made would be used as the yard stick of judging his stewardship as the seating Governor, just the way himself and his supporters put an eye watch on Governor Matawalle
