Members of the APC National Defense Coalition have held a world press conference to respond to a statement made by one of the aspirants of the post of Speaker of the 10th National Assembly, Aminu Sani Jaji when they paid a protest visit to the National Chairman of the APC.
The Press Conference which took place at the NICON Luxury Hotel in Abuja was at the instance of the National Chairman of the platform Dr. Suleiman Shuaibu Sarkin Shanun Shinkafi and his National Secretary Comr. Anas Abdullahi Kaura on Monday in Abuja.
During the press conference, Sarkin Shanu affirmed that there was clear evidence to prove that Aminu Jaji has championed the success of Anti-party in Zamfara State.
He categorically warned President-elect Bola Ahmad Tinubu not to consider any APC member who is accused of venturing into Anti-party for any National appointment, noting that, party supremacy shall be accorded priority it deserves.
Sarkin Shanu affirmed that Jaji connived with the opposition to draft members of the vigilante to rig the election in favor of the opposition PDP noting that there is overwhelming evidence that he championed their settlement.
He stated that the APC Zamfara had conducted a thorough investigation and found overwhelming evidence that Jaji has been connected with the allegation of anti-party.
He also stated that for Jaji to oppose the choice of the Speaker made by the APC National headquarters it’s a clear testimony of absolute disregard for the supremacy of the party and that of the President-elect Bola Ahmad Tinubu.
He added that based on facts, APC had won the 2023 elections in Zamfara and that what happened in the 2023 Governorship poll in Zamfara was as a result of the use of force, illegal use of security outfits such as vigilante as well as those who resorted to anti-party activities like Aminu Jaji.
Sarkin Shanu stated that the victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmad Tinubu in Zamfara State was purely as a result of the genuine commitment and political will demonstrated by Governor Bello Matawalle.
He stated that, it was visible that Governor Bello Matawalle has opened Presidential campaign offices in all the North Western States, as well as funded many campaign activities in his capacity as the North West campaign Coordinator.
He described as misleading, fabricated and false statement for Aminu Jaji to claim that he masterminded the success of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in Zamfara.
He noted that being a Director of Contact and Mobilization Jaji cannot be more influential than the Governor Bello Matawalle and Abdulaziz Yari when it comes to matters related to election because their political history and antecedent are best known to the people of Zamfara State.
On his own part, Comr. Anas Kaura said the statement made by Jaji in the presence of the National Chairman has vindicated the assertion made that he had supported the PDP in the 2023 elections; hence he stood before the national television rolling out how PDP won the elections in Zamfara State.
Kaura recalled memory lane how Abdulaziz Yari stood behind Jaji by making him APC Chairman in Birnin Magaji, local government Chairman and later member federal House or Representative for Kaura and Birnin Magaji federal constituency.
He also added that, despite resistance by the people of Kaura and Birnin Magaji in the 2022 APC primaries Matawalle single-handedly stood his ground to ensure that Jaji secured the national assembly ticket and also supported him to win the election.
He insisted that as someone who participated in the Presidential campaign Council for Tinubu and Shatima he knew how much Matawalle invested as the North West campaign Coordinator for Tinubu and Shatima both at the zonal and state levels, noting that it will be laughable for someone like Jaji to come out in public and claim that he was the one who secured victory for Bola Ahmad Tinubu.
He recalled how Tinubu in his acceptance speech thanked Governor Bello Matawalle, former Governor Yari and Sen. Marafa for their endless support for his victory, noting that such acknowledgment is a clear vindication that the three personalities mentioned were solidly behind his success in Zamfara.
“why can’t Bola Tinubu acknowledged and thanked Aminu Jaji for the role he played if really he has played any one as claimed” Anas Kaura asked.
He added further that if suffering for the victory of Tinubu is anything to reckon with as per as the Zamfara North is concerned, Sen. Sahabi Yau has done per better than Jaji because he has toured round the entire wards of the zone, commissioned developmental projects and canvassed support for Tinubu and APC and if Sahabi Ya’u will remain appreciable to Matawalle and Yari for according to him the opportunity to contribute to the success of Tinubu without making any noise who is Jaji to claim such?.
Kaura therefore warmed Aminu Jaji to stay from castigating Matawalle and Yari because they are per above his level politically.
He also called on the national leadership of the APC to retain its zoning of the post of the Speaker of the National Assembly as planned, noting that people like Aminu Jaji could not be entrusted with a sensitive position like that of the Speaker.
