Over (500) family members of senator Kabiru Garba Marafa had formally joined the political camp of Bello Matawalle Maradun.
According to the statement by the APC spokesperson in Zamfara Mal. Yusuf Idris Gusau the decampess described Matawalle political movement as most welcomed by the teeming populace in the state.
Idris said they were led to the state APC secretariat by Sen. Marafa’s uncle Malam Muhammad Tukur Marara along with two of his younger brothers Sanusi and Bilyaminu Samba Marafa.
He further said admirers of the defectors took over Gusau bye pass road in jubilation, a situation that caused serious road traffic along the bye pass road.
Both Marafa’s uncle and his two brothers spoke extensively on why they have decided to defect, noting that, the speed at which Governor Bello Matawalle is transforming the state in terms of service delivery, job creation and improving the lives of the youth encouraged them the more.
They noted with passionate interest how the Governor is given priority to health care system, especially by constructing and equipping the (147) PHC’s across all the wards.
They have also expressed satisfaction with the manner the Governor is fighting armed banditry, kidnapping and all forms of criminalities in the state.
Furthermore, they again expressed satisfaction with the number of kidnapped persons released unconditionally without paying a dime as ransom.
They specifically informed the Governor that they were forced to join Matawalle camp because of the arrogance of the former senator, his enmity
“Marafa’s failure to take their advises, his arrogance, envy, hatred, and decision to join forces with enemies of progress in the state compelled them to abandon him completely politically and fully declare allegiance to the governor’s leadership”.
They also urged people of the state to continue to appreciate Allah for bringing Matawalle as governor and not to relent in praying for his success.
Receiving the defectors state APC Chairman, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani who said words alone cannot express his excitement, promised to carry them along in all the party’s decision and programmes.
Danfulani particularly congratulated them for the bold step they have taken in realizing that Allah’s choice cannot be fought against.
He assured that the APC in Zamfara will continue to be one family with one voice under him as chairman and governor Matawalle as a leader.
