A meeting between the national leadership of the Joint Health Sector Unions, JOHESU and officials of the Federal Ministry Health which held on Wednesday ended in positive note with Federal Government promising to address the discrepancies in the ongoing payment of the Covid-19 hazard allowances.
The meeting which was held behind a closed door lasted for about two hours and had in attendance the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, the Minister of State for Health, Senator Mamora, top officials of the Ministry and the executives of JOHESU led by its National Chairman, Biobelemoye Josiah.
It was resolved at the meeting that JOHESU should draw the attention of the Ministry in writing, to the anomally identified in the implementation of the memorandum of understanding reached and to attach the list of workers not properly captured in the process.
It was also agreed that the memo should be submitted at the Federal Ministry of Health not later than Thursday, July 2, 2020.
It will be recalled that JOHESU had threatened to begin nationwide strike should the Wednesday meeting fail to address irregularities in the payment of Covid-19 hazard allowance.
