Heavy downpour which occurred on Wednesday resulted to the collapse of many building structures in Gummi local government area of Zamfara State.
According to the source, over three hundred housing structures have been directly or indirectly affected by the flood.
He said the committee set up by the emirate council as well as the local government is still conducting an assessment of the areas affected by the flood.
Areas so far affected include Dan Jahardi, Shiyar Kwammatso, Gidan Lawali Maijaki, Kasuwar Daji, Zabarmawa, Shiyar Zarga, Gidan Sarkin Malammai, police station area, Maigurumi, Maigurumi ans Gidan Dandi Mai Goro.
Gummi has been one of the local governments usually affected by flooding year-in-year-out and the source said for the past five years flooding has been part of the local governments that experienced flooding in recent years.
