Governor Bello Matawalle has inaugurated the state Civilian JTF tagged “Community Protection Guards” aimed at strengthening the security operations across the state.
The Governor who commissioned the programme with some selected guards at the Mobile Base in Gusau on Saturday said their formation became a necessity considering the lingering security situation heating the state.
He said, his administration is determined to taking measures that will help in ensuring the return of sustainable peace in the state.
While urging the guards to remain professionals, warned them to conduct their operations in line with the standard best practice.
He encourages them to have the interest of the state at heart, and work very harder to protect their respective communities so that collectively they can help deliver to their mandate.
He assured that the government will initiate ways of conducting regular prayers for the success of the programme in the state.
Part of the measures taken by the current administration of Bello Matawalle was selection of (500) community protection guards to work across the (19) emirate councils in the state.
