An APC chieftain in Zamfara Sani Abdullahi Wamban Shinkafi has warned those instigating the fire of mischief against the Deputy Governor Mahadi Aliyu Gusau to be wary of the provision of Nigerian Constitution 1999 as amended which stipulate the tenure of a Governor and his Deputy for a period of four years.
Wamban Shinkafi who stated this during a press briefing in Gusau on Thursday said some politicians are instigating the crises between Matawalle and his Deputy Mahadi Aliyu because they realized that 80 percent of Zamfara people are illiterates.
He said unless Mahadi Aliyu has done something which is contravenes the provision of the Nigerian constitution he remains the Deputy Governor of Zamfara since the duo of him and Matawalle enjoyed the dividends of joint tickets, and it is to last for four years.
He accused those he called as “enemies of Zamfara” as the brain behind the continued instigation of the crises and calling for the impeachment of the Deputy Governor, describing it as a bad development which may not be well for the state.
On those agitating for Mahadi or PDP going to court, Wambai said, such agitation and calls are baseless considering the facts that there has never been any record of crises between the duo from the inception of the present administration to date
He added that it was not only Zamfara where Governor defected without his Deputy and such agitations have not been made by the people but wondered why things are taking complex situation in Zamfara.
