Governor Bello Matawalle has sworn in the new Deputy Governor of Zamfara state Sen. Hassan Muhammad Nasiha.
The new Deputy Governor led by the State Chief Judge Mrs Kulu Isah Aliyu took his oath of office and that of allegiance at the state Government House Chambers Gusau by late evening on Wednesday.
Governor Bello Matawalle who congratulated the new Deputy Governor for his careful selection urged him to redouble effort in supporting him to deliver to the people of the state.
He stated that shortly after the screening and confirmation of the new Deputy Governor by the members of the state house of assembly, the new Deputy Governor met him privately in his office and took a separate oath distancing himself from the activities of the armed bandits in the state.
Matawalle said such was the rightful decision he wanted the former Deputy Governor to take, but he resorted to moving from one court to another.
While describing the choice of Sen. Nasiha as non-regrettable Matawalle urged him to open his home and office and listen to the people so that together they can take the most rightful decisions in the overall interest of the people of the state.
He lamented that for over a year he does not have an active Deputy Governor who would help him deliver to the people and that he has been alone all these while but noted that now with Sen. Nasiha on board, he is optimistic that things would change for the better.
