Suspected armed bandits armed with weapons invaded Gama Giwa village in Maradun local government area on Saturday and killed one person.
A source who spoke to this medium under condition of anonymity said, immediately they entered the town of Gama Giwa they started shooting sporadically, a circumstance that led to killing of one person.
He also said the bandits have fired a shot at one of their members, who eventually died on the spot.
He recalled that same group of bandits invaded the town of Gama Giwa on Thursday that was two days before the recent attack, but neither killed nor abducted anyone.
According to him their operation lasted until the early morning of Sunday even though some sources said, they left midnight and returned the following morning.
He told this medium that the bandits have been raiding Gama Giwa community from time to time for few months as they came conducted house to house search, rustle livestock and raided shops.
He recalled that, some time last month same gunmen invaded a neighboring community of Damaga killed seventeen, injured eight and burnt the entire shops and traditional grain silos of the locals.
Furthermore, he added that, no effort was made to ensure that security has been beefed up along Gama Giwa and Damaga villages as the gunmen became so powerful to the extent that they can come on broad-day light move around the communities with their arms and walk out freely without any action by the gunmen.
