The 14the Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi (11) has narrated how former Access Bank MD late Herbert Wigwe supported him after he was removed from the throne.
The former, who was speaking at a thanks provided service organized in honor of the late banker, Sanusi said he was shocked when he heard about the death of late Herbert Wigwe.
Sanusi insisted that he thought he was going to die before Wigwe, describing him as honest and peace-loving gentleman.
He recalled that the former banker promised to stand by him and support him at all cost, especially when the ordeal of his removal started.
He stated that when the announcement for his removal was made via radio, Mr. Wigwe sent him a private jet to be able to travel to Lagos.
He said even though Kano State government did not allow him to fly to Kano as he was asked to travel to Loko in Nasarawa his family were conveyed on same plane to Lagos, and they were received by the late bankers.
He stated that Mr. Herbert promised to take charge of his travels and comfort him in all aspects.
