Members of Zamfara State House of Assembly have rejected the report of the house committee on education on the bill to promote children and young person’s education in the state and to prevent all forms of distractions during school hours 2021.
According to a statement by the house Spokesperson Mustapha Jafaru Kaura said, the report of the committee was rejected by the house citing crises of insecurity and proliferation of Internally Displaced persons as a result of armed bandits activities.
Jafaru said, though the bill is privately sponsored, the house agreed that, the report of the committee be sent to the house joint committees of basic and primary education as well as judiciary and justice for reintegration of all observations raised.
The house also considered a bill for a law to repeal Sokoto State Teachers Service Board Law Cap 39A of 1992 and re-enact Zamfara State Teachers Service Board law of 2021 and resolved to give the bill second readings and later commit the bill to the House Committee of basic education and non-formal education for consideration.
The house also asked the committee to report back within a month times
