MY DETERMINATION IS TO HELP GOV. MATAWALLE SUCCEEDS

Published

on

Some news is trending on social media that you are contesting for the post of Senator in the forth-coming 2023 elections, how true is this?

Honestly, it was a mischief because since I took over the mantle of leadership as Chairman of ZSBIRS i have never discussed with anyone that I am contesting any position in Zamfara.

I am a civil servant, and I am now working for the Governor and my greatest ambition is to assist the Governor in achieving greatly and the sector he has given to me is such a sensitive one that does not require distractions. I am working harder to ensure that I have collected more revenue for the Governor so that he can deliver on his campaign promises.

Remember in the 2022 fiscal years government has given us a target of (N11B) and we are working to make sure that we have realized more than what is given to us as a target. So, the news that is trending on the social media is a fake one and does not reflect my true ambition which is to work marvelously for the Governor, and I am more than determined to do that.

And again, it may be the decision of well-wishers who feels we have done more than enough in terms of supporting the ambition of Governor Bello Matawalle which is to transform the state but even if they are the one spreading the news let them stop because that is not the direction we are going. I have warned all those suspected to be part and parcel of such act to stop it,, and I am sure the warning is more than enough.

Now that you have cleared the air, what next for you

I have told you from the inception that my determination as Chairman of ZSBIRS is to make the Governor happier in terms of accessing more revenue and making funds available for developmental projects.

We have gone per with the institutionalization of reforms geared at tapping from some neglected areas so that our revenue can be enhanced. Again, the positive effects of such reforms are manifesting because our IGR is increasing rapidly despite the current security challenges confronting the state.

So, our target is to transform the policies of tax collection and also changed the attitude of the people toward payment of revenue as at when due.

You can see for yourself the effort the Governor is making to see that the state has been transformed,, and he needed our collective support for him to actualized his dream of transforming the state.

As someone who is part of the government of Bello Matawalle and also holding a critical sector of the economy how convinced are you that the government is on track?

Governor Matawalle is moving on the right track no doubt about that one, and you can take any sector and analyze. If you look at education he has done very well paid some backlog of WAEC/NECO, constructed over (1000) block of classrooms, paid all the matching grant’s to UBEC, sponsored over 200 students to study science and engineering courses in Sudan, Cyprus, China, and India.

Take example of health sector also, the Governor has awarded the upgrading of General Hospital Talatar Mafara to the status of Specialists hospital, General hospital Gummi and Tsafe are undergoing renovation, while that of Birnin Magaji has already been put to use .

The Governor also procured (23) ambulances, constructed new primary health care centers across (147) and also continue with the work on Shinkafi referral hospital.

Come back to capital development projects like roads, he has completed eight township roads in Gusau and eight are undergoing construction, he is currently constructing Danmarke-Ruwan Dorawa and Kanoma road, he is doing that of Dosara and to sum it all in the 2022 fiscal year, he is to construct more than ten new roads, and you can find that from the budget.

All these are done using very limited resources couple with over (N100B) Naira stock of debt the former Governor Yari has left for the state, so he needed to be commended.

Oppositions are accusing some of you that are given political appointments that you are not assisting the Governor in terms of supporting the people who are closest to you, how true is this allegation?

To the best of my knowledge, every political appointee in Zamfara is doing his very possible best to support the lives of Zamfara people to the little he can do. The Governor has accorded us all the opportunities we deserved,, and I think in fairness to him, we are also trying our best to use our respective positions to help the people.

You can go and ask people across the state, as political appointees we are trying our best to support the Governor in all ramifications. We have to learn from Matawalle because you have seen how per he moved around in the broad day light and in the night to make sure that people of Zamfara are assisted.

What is your perception of Governor Bello Matawalle as someone who closely with him for sometimes now

Governor Bello Matawalle is one leader that I am opportune to meet who is honest and dedicated to the transformation of Zamfara state. My experience of working under Matawalle has exposed me to understanding that leadership is a great responsibility which one meed to carry with all sense of responsibility.

He is a leader who does not interfere in the discharge of the responsibility he has delegated to someone. He accorded his appointees free hand to take decisions and always encourage them to assist humanity.

I have enjoyed working under him and what we have learned from him is a clear knowledge which will remain a symbol of hope that young leadership like us need to emulate.Zamfara is going to be transformed beyond h
