The former Senator who represented Zamfara Central Kabiru Garba Marafa said, his faction of the APC is going to participate in the Saturday’s congress in Zamfara.
The Sen. who made the declaration on Friday when he featured in a Channel’s TV show “Politics Today” said his faction is not only participating in the Congress scheduled for Saturday but is going to organize parallel congress.
He said the action of the Mai Mala Buni committee to conduct ward congress in Zamfara without informing all stakeholders in time is a deliberate attempt by what he called “illegal” and “Kangaroo” committee to further heightened the party crises in Zamfara.
Marafa who noted that there is an existing split even among the Yari’s faction where he came from insisted that if the Yari faction decided not to participate in the Saturday’s congress because they are in court with Matawalle faction, his faction would surely participate by organizing parallel congress.
When asked if organizing a parallel congress is not illegal, Marafa said, the caretaker committee led by Mai Mala Buni has committed many illegalities citing reference with the manner at which same caretaker committee sent two different committees to monitor and supervise the just concluded party congress in Sokoto
The senator said they would conduct their primaries and also go to court to seek for judgement against the breach of procedure by the Mai Mala Buni committee adding that there ought to be proper communication to all stakeholders regarding the planned congress on Saturday.
He added that since they have labored to build APC in a situation where majority of those who are fueling crises on the party are mere Special Advisers in their respective states then they should not leave the party (APC) for them to spoiled it
