NIGERIAN CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF BAGS TITLE OF JARMAN MARADUN

Emir of Maradun Alh Garba Muhammad Tambari has conferred the title of Jarman Maradun to the Nigerian Chief of Army Staff Lt. General Tukur Buratai in recognition of his effort toward restoring peace in the country. 


The Chief of Army Staff was in Maradun in company of the State Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle to inspect the ongoing RUGA project executed by the state government as part of the peace measures instituted by the state government to ending the lingering conflict in the state. 

The Emir who commended the effort of the the army chief and his personnel for the giant military operation in the North West geopolitical zone expressed the commitment of his Emirate Council in supporting measures by the army aimed at restoring peace in the state. 


Before the royal visit to the Emir’s Palace, the Chief of Army Staff Lt. General Yusuf Buratai was toured round the location of the ongoing RUGA project by the Governor where he expressed satisfaction with the level of the initiative by the state Governor. 
He said, the RUGA initiative is one of the best project designed by the state government aimed at addressing the root cause of Zamfara social conflict which is Heardsmen-Farmers clashes which resulted to death of multiple number of people with attendant loss of lives and properties in the state. 
The army Chief urged other State Governors to key in to the initiative by Zamfara State which in his own assessment has multiplier effects to both security and economy observing that, on completion, the RUGA  project would provide ample opportunities for youth employment, agricultural activities and industrialization. 
He noted further that, as part of their commitment to ending banditry and other forms of criminalities, Nigerian Army has set up Special Super Camps in Batsari and Faskari which he said, would assist greatly in curbing the menace of bandit activities along Sokoto, Katsina and Zamfara States. 


Earlier in his remarks, the State Governor called on the unrepentant bandits to surrender to the peace initiative of the State and handed down their weapons to avoid being crushed militarily adding that his government is willing and ready to provide logistic support to both the army and all the security agencies operating in the state.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
