The Zamfara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp Mr. Muhammad Bello Muazu has urged the media to play neutral during the conduct of the 2023 elections by reporting issues that will ensure the unity of Nigeria and not those that would bring chaos and confusion in the country.
Muazu who stated this during an exclusive interview with the Thunder Blowers said media has a responsibility of ensuring that Nigeria remains united beyond the 2023 elections.
“I will urged to pls always report what would help unite this country and avoid those reports that are capable of disuniting Nigeria and also bring chaos and confusion in the name of elections”.
Regarding the level of preparedness of his command, Muazu said, his men are combat ready for the election exercise hence for some months now, they have been receiving trainings and briefings regarding the 2023 elections.
He added that, adequate number of his men are ready for deployment in relations to the 2023 elections.
He stated further that, they have already submitted the comprehensive list of their personnel to the police headquarters waiting for their deployment to their locations of posting.
“Police are the leading agency when it comes to election and in our end we have trained our personnel on the “dos” and “don’t” expected of them during election, and we are combat ready to ensure that Zamfara citizens are protected to conduct their election peacefully”.
He also noted that the Corp is fully in touch with the INEC to ensure that the Corp is carried along in all arrangements for the conduct of the 2023 polls.
