POLICE NEUTRALISES NOTORIOUS ARMED BANDIT IN ZAMFARA, RECOVERS AK-47 RIFLE AND LIVE AMMUNITION

Zamfara State Police Command has neutralises a notorious armed bandit in Tsibiri community Maradun local government area of the state.

Items recovered according to the Police Spokes Person SP Shehu Muhammad include AK 47 rifle with Breech Number AK 103 2051361627 and magazine containing four round of live ammunition one (1) operational motorcycle and a bag containing bundle of charms and military camouflage uniform.

“The command in continuation of such kinetic actions against the recalcitrant bandits has succeeded in neutralizing a notorious armed bandit kingpin who specialized and has been on the radar of the Police for terrorizing the innocent people of Maradun and other neighboring local governments of Zamfara State”.

“On 4th April 2021, operatives attached to Operation Puff Adder II of the command while on confidence building patrol along Tsibiri village, near Sububu forest in Maradun LGA intercepted a group of armed bandits who were believed to be on attack mission to the village. On sighting the Police operatives, they engaged them in a gun duel to which the personnel quickly returned fire. As a result, one of the bandits was gunned down, while other bandits fled into the forest with possible gun shot wounds” Shehu added.

“In the course of profiling the scene, an AK-47 rifle with breech no. AK 103 – 2051361627 and one Magazine containing Four (4) rounds of live ammunition, one operational Motorcycle and a bag containing a bundle of charms and set of Military Camouflage uniform were recovered”.

The command assures members of the public that, the ongoing operations against the recalcitrant bandits who refused to embrace the ongoing peace accord of Governor Mohammed Bello Matawalle will be effectively sustained to rid the state of all forms of criminal elements.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
