RAMADAN WELFARE: ZAMFARA GOVERNOR LAUNCHES THE DISTRIBUTION OF (14) BAGS OF ASSORTED FOOD ITEMS TO 2,516 POLING UNITS

Zamfara State Government has ordered for the distribution of assorted food item to Gusau, Kaura Namoda and Talatar Mafara local government areas of the state.

Chairman of the committee set up for the exercise who doubled as the Speaker of Zamfara State House of Assembly Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya declared the commencement of the distribution exercise in Gusau on Sunday.

According to him Gusau local government which has 354 poling units each is to benefit from 2,124 bags of rice, 708 bags of millet, 1,416 bags of maize, 354 bags of beans and 355 bags of sugar.

He further explained that, each of the 354 poling units is to benefit from (6) bags of rice, (4) bags of millet, (2) bags of maize, (1) bag of beans and (1) bag of sugar.

He said each of the 2,516 poling unit in Zamfara is to benefit from this same quantity of food items listed above.

Speaker Magarya said this number is for the people at the poling units hence a substantive provision for orphans and less privileged persons has been made.

He further said the Chairman of every local government alongside all political appointees including permanent secretaries and federal lawmakers from each local government are to serve as members of the committee for the distribution of the food items.

He called on the committee members to have the fear of Allah and deliver the food item as provided for in each of the poling unit noting that the Governor has vowed to deal decisively with any committee member who attempted to divert the food items.

He declared that, the distribution of food items down to the polling unit is the first to be started by Governor Bello Matawalle since the creation of the state.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
