Indications had emerged that, the PDP Gubernatorial aspirants who lost at the recent appeal court judgment in Sokoto on Friday Engr. Ibrahim Shehu Gusau is heading to the Supreme Court to challenge the judgment of the Appellate Court.
A source close to the gubernatorial aspirant reliably told this medium that they have prepared their grounds and ready to file their appeal at the Supreme Court.
“By law we have (14) days within which to file our appeal to the Apex court and our legal team are gearing up and within this coming week we shall perfect that”.
He noted that there are many grounds to challenge the appellate court judgment, and he assured that those ground would be tested at the Apex Court.
It could be recalled that the Federal High Court Gusau led by Justice Aminu Bappa had nullified the second primary election conducted by the PDP on the ground of non-compliance with the section 82(1) of the electoral act 2022 (as amended).
But the court of Appeal Sokoto last Friday set aside the judgment on the ground that the lower court does not have the power to nullify that election.
