From 25th February to date there have been intelligence received by the government of Zamfara that some desperate politicians from Zamfara who wanted the federal government to declare state of emergency in the state are using social media to fuel crises.

This was disclosed by a chieftain of All Progressive Grand Alliance Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi while addressing press men in his country home Shinkafi on Sunday.

He said it is in the imagination of those desperate politicians who wanted to take over power in Zamfara by all means that they wanted to hide under insecurity to influence the declaration of state of emergency in Zamfara.

“we have intelligence that a member of APC G8 was over-heard telling someone in Abuja and complaining that the IGP is not cooperating with them in their desperate attempt to use the abduction in Jangebe to declare state of emergency in Zamfara.

Shinkafi said, Section 305 of the Nigerian Constitution 1999 as amended has made it very clear that the President cannot enforce state of emergency in a state that has an elected executive Governor noting that if Olusegun Obasanjobhas tried that in the early days of return to democracy in Nigeria this time around it cannot happened.

He accused the National adviser of being too sentimental of advising the President to enforce no fly zone in Zamfara noting that Monguno should have offered same advise for President to enforce same no flying zone in his home town of Monguno where bandits took over for over eleven years.

He said enforcement of no fly zone in Zamfara should not be seen as an issue since Zamfara has no airport or even mini airstrip.
