THE ARMY OFFICER ARRESTED IN ZAMFARA FOR SUPPLYING WEAPONS TO BANDITS SHOULD BE SHOT TO DEATH IN THE OPEN MARKET

A chieftain of All progressive Grand Alliance Sani Abdullahi Wamban Shinkafi has called on the military authorities to court martial the army officer who was arrested for supplying weapons to bandits in Zamfara forest.

Wamban Shinkafi who made the call during a media briefing in Shinkafi said, the best option for the state is to shot the accused to death in the open market after he is being convicted.

He said it was unfortunate that the military officer is using his girl friend as conduit pipe for supplying arms and amunitions to the bandits noting that unless the right step is taken to punish the accused military officer Zamfara people would not have a rest of mind.

While commending the peace initiative of Governor Bello Matawalle, Wamban Shinkafi said it is on record that the number of carnages and killings innZamfara State have reduced drastically noting that, without the peace effort of Governor Bello Matawalle Zamfara would have been different by now.

“I knew of a time when amunitions were sold in the public at the cost of 200 in Shinkafi without the security agencies taking any steps to prohibit it” Wambai added.

He further said, bandits in Zamfara are in control of rocket launchers, RPG’s and other deadly weapons that even the conventional security operatives do not have and that is why they strike at villages and communities openly.

He accused some APC leaders of fueling the crises in Zamfara simply in order to show that Governor Bello Matawalle has failed in discharging his constitutional duties.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
