THREE DAYS IN CAPTIVITY: OUR HEART REMAINS CONNECTED WITH EMIR OF BUNGUDU
Today is exactly three days since the abduction of the Emir of Bungudu Sarkin Fulani Alh Hassan Attahiru by some unknown gunmen along Abuja-Kaduna highway.
The news of his abduction no doubt came to the people of Nigeria as a shocking one, especially considering how the confidence of the people plying the road has being rebuilded after months of serial attacks for abduction along the popular highway.
We have heard Kaduna Police Command Spokes Person giving commitment of securing the release of the royal father.
Our concern is how soon are they going to secure the release of the Emir considering how long other abductees stays with their abductors in different parts of the country.
I think the development has called for those in the position of authority to understand that Northern Nigeria is heading toward becoming a graveyard for the innocent people whose major interest is to source for how to sustain the feeding of their families and relations.
The development in Zamfara and part of North Western states is beyond government show of force in fighting the armed bandits but government need to be proactive in redefining and repositioning its socio-economic policies aimed at addressing poverty, unemployment and economic productivity.
We pray that the Emir is safe in the hand of the bandits and call on the security agencies to redouble their commitment in securing his timely release.
May God return the Emir safely back to his family
