The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the dismissal of three police officers and a reduction in rank of five others .
This is contained in a statement by the Spokesperson of the commission, Mr. Ikechukwu Ani on Wednesday .
He added that 20 other police officers were reprimanded reprimanded by the police authorities for committing various offenses.
According to the statement, the dismissed police officers include three Assistant Superintendents of Police as well as Assistant police commissioner, and a Chief Superintendent and two Superintendents, and one Assistant Superintendent of police.
He said the decisions were taken during the 20th Plenary Meeting of the Commission, presided over by its Chairman, Dr. Solomon Arase .
Ani said the meeting treated 43 pending disciplinary matters, appeals, and petitions.
According to the statement, Arase pledged to prioritize police officers’ welfare and deal decisively with cases of infractions where necessary.
Ani added that the promotion of 109 senior staff of the Commission was approved during the meeting.
