TRIBUNAL WITNESS AFFIRMS THAT INEC FAILS TO CONDUCT ELECTION IN EIGHT POLING UNITS OF ANKA LG

An APC witness, Sulaiman Tunau Anka has stated that, elections did not take place in eight poling units under Anka local government area of Zamfara state.

Tunau who stated this while providing evidence at the Governorship election petition tribunal holding in Sokoto stated that to the best of his knowledge, the results of these eight poling units were cancelled by the INEC officials.

Asked about the reasons for the cancellation of the results of these poling units, Tunau Anka told the tribunal that only INEC officials can advance reasons for the cancellation.

When asked if he can give an account of the number of registered voters that collected their permanent voter cards in the eight poling units where he claimed the election did not hold, he said he could not remember?

He also informed the tribunal that, to the best of his knowledge, there are three poling units in Anka local government area where cases over of voting were discovered.

Yusuf Suleman Usman (Sketch) another witness from Kaura Namoda told the tribunal that as local government collation agent he ensures that he went around to see things for himself, especially at the poling units where his attention was called regarding certain electoral irregularities.

He stated that all that he stated in his statement on oath were direct reflection of what transpired at the poling units under his local government; hence they reported cases to him directly on the day of the election.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
