The APC witness at the Zamfara Governorship election petition tribunal, Bashir Salisu has told the tribunal that, as APC Maru local government collation officer, he knew very well that election did not take place at Rayau poling unit under Kanoma ward.

He also informed the tribunal that he never knew where INEC got the result sheets it has recorded for the same poling unit.

When asked by the counsel to the PDP whether all the APC agents that participated in the conduct of the 2023 general elections are still alive, he replied that he may not know; hence some may die after the conduct of the election.

When counsel to the INEC asked him if he can remember the election procedures from poling units to wards and local government, he said he cannot remember because he is not an INEC official.

Another APC ward collation agent for Dosara/Birnin Kaya in Maradun local government area in the state Comr. Ahmad Janbako has informed the tribunal that, to the best of his knowledge, a total of (11,170) voters at Dosara/Birnin Kaya collected their PVC’s for voting in the 2023 elections.

He stated that though he was not at all the poling units during the election, the party agents assigned by the APC reported what happened to him at the collation center and that helped him in making his deposition as witness the Tribunal.

Counsel to the INEC also asked the witness whether he has more than a signature, and he replied “Yes” but noting that the signature he used in signing INEC documents during the 2023 election varies from the one he uses for his official engagements.

The counsel therefore asked for the leave of the tribunal to allow the witness to make two additional specimen signatures for comparison, a request which was granted.
