Zamfara State Commissioner for Religious Affairs Tukur Sani Jangebe has tendered his letter of resignation.
In a letter dated 1st May 2023 the commissioner said “I Sheikh Dr. Tukur Sani Jangebe (Walin Jangebe, Moddibon Mafara and Maluman Gusau) wish to express my profound gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency the State Executive Governor Hon. (Dr) Bello Matawallen Maradun Barden Kasar Hausa and Shatima of Sokoto over my appointment as Hon. Commissioner as well as member of the state executive council since the inception of your administration”.
He further said, “since the inception of your administration, this singular gesture and honor done to me by His Excellency will continue to be remembered by my humble self and family”.
He also said, “His Excellency the state executive Governor may wish to note at this juncture that, I Sheikh (Dr) Mohf Tukur Sani Jangebe hereby tender my voluntarily resignation of appointment as Hon. Commissioner deployed to Ministry of Religious Affairs from today 1st May 2022”.
Until his formal resignation Jangebe was reported to have used preaching ground to pray for the success of one of the political opponents of the Governor Dr. Dauda Lawal. A prayer that generated mixed reaction from across the political divides.
